PROFESSIONAL REGULATIONS

The lawyers are admitted to and members of the Frankfurt Bar Association under the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Bar Association is the professional supervisory authority.

This Bar Association - as well as the German Federal Bar Association (BRAK) - is the competent body for out-of-court arbitration proceedings (ombudsman). Complaints can be sent to the postal address given. A description of the procedure can be found on the Bar Association's website.

The relevant professional regulations are, among others,

the Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO),
the Rules of Professional Practice (BORA),
the Specialist Lawyers' Rules (FAO),
the Lawyers' Fees Act (RVG), and
the Code of Conduct for European Lawyers (CCBE).

The current versions of these regulations can be found on the website of the German Federal Bar or in the collection of legal texts provided by the Federal Ministry of Justice.

OUT-OF-COURT DISPUTE RESOLUTION

The conciliation board of the Bar Association (Schlichtungsstelle der Rechtsanwaltschaft), Rauchstraße 26, 10187 Berlin, Germany, www.s-d-r.org, is responsible for property disputes arising from the client relationship. The lawyers are willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings at the conciliation board of the Bar Association in case of express consent.

PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE

Professional liability insurance is provided by Württembergische Versicherung AG, 70163 Stuttgart, Germany. The geographical scope of the insurance covers activities in the member states of the European Union and thus at least meets the legal requirements of § 51 of the Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO).
